In Loving Memory of Jack Rowland
Jack Rowland, 18, of Perrysburg, Ohio, tragically passed away on May 24, 2025, shortly after graduating from Otsego High School. Jack was known for his kindness, strength, and unwavering dedication to those around him.
In honor of Jack's compassionate spirit, we invite you to support Jack and Irene's WISH House, a residence that provides safety, care, and support to individuals in need. Jack and Irene's WISH House offers a nurturing environment for those facing challenging circumstances--be it aging, illness, or the need for a caring community. With personalized services and a focus on dignity and healing, residents find comfort and purpose within its walls. Jack's beloved great grandmother provided the same unwavering compassionate, individualized care, while meeting with legislation to advocate and collaborate for proper nursing care in long term care facilities in the 1960's.

Thank you for your support, your prayers, and your kindness during this unimaginably hard time. We are so grateful, more than we can ever say.
This still doesn’t feel real. We’re trying to find a new way to keep moving forward, and as many of you know, that will be very hard.

Jack was only 18 years old, but in those 18 years, he lived a full and beautiful life—one filled with laughter, joy, and a whole lot of heart. He truly was a Jack of all trades. He could fix anything—or anyone—and he had the biggest heart and the gentlest soul.
Jack would want us to carry him with us, remembering everything he taught us, and to do our best to live out what he stood for.
Jack has done so many amazing and generous things for others. My wish is that his siblings live in his footsteps and carry on his legacy. There will never be another Jack—but he will live on in all of us.
He was determined and full of charm. I’ll never forget when he once said, “I guess I am persistent like you.” Jack felt like he didn't have a purpose if he wasn't helping someone, just like Mom. Everything he chose to do meant something to him. He would do anything for anyone and convince his friends to help him too.
Jack hated how much I was gone working long hours. And yet he loved it when I handed him a check for an FFA banquet, prom tickets, gas money, or spirit wear—usually in exchange for some sort of repair job. But he deserved all of it. I’d give anything for one more of his big teddy bear hugs, and for him to ask me for gas money just one more time.
To honor Jack and what he wanted for me and our family, I’m going to finalize something I’ve been working on for a while: opening a small, residential assisted living home. A place close to home, where I can care for others while staying present for my family. Jack wanted me around more. And now, with everything in me, I want to carry out that wish.
This place will be called Jack and Irene’s WISH House.
WISH stands for Welcoming Inviting Safe Haven—but this will go beyond that. It will be a compassionate space for aging adults, post-op patients, those nearing the end of life, and anyone in need of care.
We’ve set up a special donation account at Perrysburg Buckeye State Bank for Jack and Irene’s WISH House and a QR code to learn more or make a donation.
Irene was Jack’s great-grandmother. She lived to 95, was a nurse, and in the 1960s she fought for legislation to ensure the elderly were properly cared for. Now, Jack’s spirit and Irene’s mission will come together under one roof.
